Where the numbers come from
Holiday rules come from each hauler's own holiday notice, recorded with the date we checked it. Bulk and leaf rules are quotes from the city page named in each table row. Route and zone counts come from the city's published collection-route data. See Data sources for the full list, and holiday delays for the rule of every verified city.

Will a guide tell me whether my city moves pickup on a holiday?
The holiday guide compares the general rule of each of the 38 cities with a verified notice and shows only the date-specific handling a city has posted for Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's Day; a date the city has not posted yet is marked "Not posted yet". For a city without a verified notice, its page says the holiday rule is not confirmed instead of guessing a date.
