TrashWeek

Data sources

Each city page links to the exact public map layer (ArcGIS REST service) we read. We download the collection-zone polygons and their weekday attributes, simplify the shapes for the browser, and regenerate the site when the data changes.

The address lookup uses the free US Census Bureau geocoder to turn your address into a coordinate, then tests that point against the zone polygons in your browser. Your address is sent to the Census service only; we do not store it.

Holiday delays are shown from the 2026 federal calendar plus each city's official notice. Weather delays, route changes and special pickups are not reflected — the city's notice wins.

For cities that publish per-address schedules through ReCollect instead of a zone map (Austin, Fort Worth, Jacksonville, Memphis), we query that service live for the address you type, through a small relay on api.trashweek.com; nothing is stored.
