Long Beach Environmental Services Bureau skips collection on the 2 holidays below. In the provider's words: “Collection services are interrupted only on Christmas Day (December 25) and New Year's Day (January 1). For all other holidays, refuse, recycling, and organics are collected on your regular schedule. When Christmas Day and New Year’s Day fall on a weekday, collection for the holiday and the remainder of that week will be delayed by one day, with the final collection occurring on Saturday. If the holiday falls on a Saturday, collection will occur on the Friday before the holiday.” (official notice, checked 2026-09-17).
